Making good progress!

Depending on how crucial it is, you could schedule a background job for it. I'd dare to say updated follower lists don't have to be realtime mirrored.

But then again i have no context of what you're trying to do with them after all.

The idea is that an anilist user should eventually be able to move to animestr with one click (relatively speaking, not literally one click).

- They create an nsec

- Sign in into their anilist account

- Publish a post on anilist, including their npub and a signature from this nsec

And then that's it. All of their watch and read list is imported (with scores, progress, sorting and everything else you have on anilist), with all of the same data, all of their text updates are imported, with follow lists (so you still follow the same people and see their updates), the forum posts, their favorites, reviews etc.

The goal is to have a move that feels like you're not losing anything, you're only gaining.

- You're gaining the ability to use any other nostr app

- You're gaining the ability to zap and receive zaps

- You're gaining control over your identity (its YOUR nsec, not a username in a private database)

- You're able to see content from more people (those who are on nostr but not on anilist, for example)

As soon as users feel like they are losing something they will find every excuse possible not to do something, even if the benefits outweigh the negatives.

The goal is to make it so that users won't feel like they lose anything at all ʕ•ٹ•ʔ
