Hey NostrPlebs.com users. Your NIP-05 ID isn't an email address *yet*. I know that it looks like one because of the @ symbol, but it's not an email address. We will add this functionality at some point in the near future and you'll be able to get email directly to your nostr DMs. Until we announce this feature, please stop giving out your NIP-05 ID to people as as an email address.

I've gotten about 5 emails today. I will be contacting each person and copying and pasting the email into their DM and then deleting the original email. I'm sorry if you were confused. 🤝

📔 What are Basic and Premium Tiers?

At this time, there are no differences between basic tier domains and premium tier domains. In the future Nostr Plebs will distinguish between these domains by providing a higher tier of services for the premium domains. Examples of these are not limited to, but may include, relay write access and relay data allotment. i.e. a nostrpurple.com member may get a higher amount of free events per month than a nostrplebs.com users. Whenever premium tier services and features launch, users will be given ample notice.

maybe it could just solve this issue and be the ultimate nip 05 for nostr giving everyone @_____.tdl instead of things that look like emails… but the idea of pushing those emails to DM’s is pretty good, I’ve heard this complaint with mastodon, haven’t seen this solution

People get confused by lightning addresses for the same reason. Really cool that you’re going to add that feature, though!

Thank you! Imagine integrating Lightning into it. That's probably way down the road, but it would be super cool to have to pay an invoice to be able to email someone. It would reduce spam.
