I'm I simple guy 🤪

If they can offer a seed recovery service, the seed must somehow be able to leave de HW wallet.

One of the mean reasons to have a HW wallet is that the seed can NEVER LEAVE THE DEVICE.

If you consider the fact the seed can leave the device is a safe feature is up to you... 🫣

True, except for the Nano S. They said that that device wasnt capable of doing that. But agree aint the proper choice anymore

I didn't tried to keep updated.

Did the Nano S had a new Firmware that enabled that service ?

When I found out their sw interface (I don't even recall how it was named, it worked ok, runned on your phone and computer) phoned every single action you did to ledger headquarters I dumped it and moved on.

Not nice, my setup was based on the Nano S.

And as reward I still get spam mail (a database of Ledger was hacked with my email in it)

Most don't want to think.

A HW wallet has a very specific function.

So you don't buy a latest greatest HW wallet.

You don't install the latest greatest FW version ( and if it is needed to fix a critical bug you probably went wrong with the first remark).

All these things are not that hard to understand.

But there probably are some 50 to a 100 rules you have to know to safely use a HW wallet.

If that is too much no problem use an exchange ?

Or perhaps #Bitcoin isn't for those ?
