this is pretty sweet. have you used this at all? seems like it'd be a cool alternative to a self-hosted gitlab or gitea since it looks like you can clone projects using git directly if someone doesn't have access to radicle
The RIPs are the most coherent and well formed thing I’ve read on the problem in general. The architecture is interesting in that it leverages the proven distributed consensus qualities of git (not just storage).
Compatibility with existing workflows ie gradual migration from centralised services via bridges I still feel is critical for success and perhaps overlooked.
Thanks for sharing! I’m going to test it out.
I was always impressed by that project. I think wladimir looked into it for core but it didn’t gain traction. I have yet to deep dive.
Would like to hear what stopped it from gaining traction if anyone recalls
It was full of shitcoins, they had an ICO and so on. Now (in the last two months) they have dropped all the shitcoin stuff.
Promising
i believe twitter solved alternative crypto backend verification issues with people posting ass pictures... then teams pirating sensitive "nfts" and selling them on the black market unbeknownst to the subjects. causing harassment and blackmail etc for real human identity by in-person validators. or something like that. ish.
Could be simplified. Some good stuff in there though
Where are those RIPs?
It is super well designed and works also pretty well
