I'd now like to share with you a reflection and an essential question I've been asking myself in the face of current events ⤵︎

For the first 15 years of the Internet, geek culture dominated.

Everyone was pseudonymous and anonymous. It was the time of the phpBB forums, when the Internet was literally a paradise, and every day we discovered new nuggets, and judged someone solely on their ideas.

Then came the normies, and there was the tragedy:

They tried to import their culture from Normandy, using their real names and photos to make themselves look good, thinking it would give them more credibility.

And the Internet's descent into hell began: instead of being a new space of independent freedom, it became a digital version of the modern world with all its faults.

An attempt at building The Panopticon that has been threatened for some time now, narrative control is being lost by power and so the velvet glove slips from the iron fist if the technology is there - but with all things there will be a Remnant - black markets, agorism, communities, decentralising. Nostr is part of that ❤💪🤗💻🛠

What's amazing is the lack of interest in Nostr and decentralized tech from very awake freedom loving online communities.

They see the age verification stuff and the inevitable digital ID rollout but do nothing. Its like watching people who live in forest fire territory but take no measures to create fire breaks or incorporate smart landscape design to mitigate inevitable fires.

Only when the fire is in their area will they start spraying their house with water and taking some sort of action.

I guess normalcy bias is a stronger force than I thought. If you haven't seen it before its hard to imagine

Grateful to be on one of the lifeboats with all of you. I tried with all of the groups I've been active in but at the end of the day you can't make a horse drink until they get thirsty
