Been reading a little about astrology. Still quite mysterious, but I see a fork in the road already. Western vs Vedic.

Western astrology is so obsessed with symmetry, it disregards the actual time of year that the sun transits the constellation, and imposes an axis across opposing pairs of houses. This seems odd, considering the whole system is supposed to derive from the concept of "unus mundus."

Vedic or "sidereal" (I dislike this word. How say?) astrology adheres to where the constellation actually is, and doesn't require symmetry. In this version, the 13th sign is included - Ophiuchus, the serpent, associated with healing and Asclepius. I think there's a story of some form about how serpents became demonized in the west - it wasn't always so - and I think it has to do with making Judas a bad guy, which itself is a hell of a rabbit hole, and quite unfortunate.

I'm not really sold on the idea that these constellations are correlated with personality. I can see it in unaware people, Normie's of all sorts. I don't see it at all in aware people. That, in my mind, makes it more likely that they are simply allowing themselves to be told who they are, instead of making that determination for themselves. Regardless, if you think astrology holds water (hehe), you might be interested in your sign adjusted to include Ophiuchus (sidereal astrology).
