Usually I wouldn’t amplify this kind of low-signal trash, but honestly I’ve seen more people than I can count try to claim I’m somehow being ā€œpaid offā€ because they think anyone who questions their Knots religion MUST be ā€œcompromised.ā€

Let me spell this out clearly: no one is paying me for my opinions on the efficacy of filters.

I’ve also never told anyone to run core, and have said many times you should run whatever node software you want, and that you don’t need to update your node software because it’s backwards compatible. I don’t care what you do, and neither does Bitcoin.

Until we have different ***consensus rules*** we’re all bitcoiners.

You’re free to run whatever node software you want.

Go out and touch some grass, then try creating value and stacking more sats instead of being playing identity politics with your relay policy.

Dude, this "consensus rules are bitcoin" is a psyop you've fallen for. Satoshi added filters, they exist for a reason, and when spam came in they did a job. Now we have spam and related money influencing people in the space and leading to changed narratives.

So is this "it's core vs. knots" thing. Nah, it's Core as a neutral reference implementation stewardship project vs Core as "we make the decisions now, filthy plebs."

Knots only came into the equation because it was the first alternative anyone could think of, and Luke makes for an easy punching bag thanks to his eccentricities.

I'm glad the Core team has given up on being a neutral reference implementation, because Bitcoin shouldn't have such a weak trusted point of failure.

I for one am curious what the BTCD guys are doing these days. And libbitcoin, for that matter, which is probably at least the structure of a project that a reference implementation, should one exist, would have.

ā€œConsensus rules are bitcoinā€ isn’t a psyop dude… it’s the truth.…..

suddenly not an anarchist !?

Satoshi added filters, developers paid by spam miners remove them

It’s one thing to say run any node software you want vs sly remarks in few of the podcasts, most notably with the podcasters.

ā€œBitcoin is dead broā€

they can cry about something else now

🚨 Retard alert šŸ‘†

I gotta say... "Making the meme money" is quite a statement. 🤣

I never thought someone would ever mention those words while attempting to give it a connotation akin to "insider trading".

Making the meme money will now be my new goal to get ultra rich.

It must have been a joke. ā€œMeme moneyā€ made me laugh.

You said nothing would happen, mate

This is unrelated to Core v30 come on, the entire market is crashing.

Bro, that’s a long way of saying you’re just dumb but not corrupt 🫠

Nerd fights are funny. 😁

Consensus rules is what we fight to death.

I can count on one had the current number of podcasters that have been in the space longer than myself and it’s clear to me that you are simply relying on the opinions of those you trust most. But I will say that I am shocked at a fairly good sized group of OGs that show far less care than was the case back during the block size wars.

I personally don’t like being called a bitcoin maxi because my interest and curiosity in innovation, and the fact that life can just continually get better is the reason I found bitcoin in the first place. Maxis that believe there couldn’t possibly be something better than bitcoin are just status quo 2.0 Maxis. Toxic maxi mentality that prevents them from being interested in other technologies is the same as Fiat Maxi mentality that prevents fiat dummies from understanding bitcoin.

Personally, I think we ought to support the development of multiple ā€œbitcoin 2.0 optionsā€ to harden and secure our financial future.

But if there’s one thing I’ve learned about preserving and growing wealth, it’s that you cannot be overprotective about what works and what you have. And whether the v30 camp is correct or not, the fact that they are not willing to communicate better or delay in order to educate or discuss is careless, reckless, and anti-ethos. You know, consensus/transparency/community/verify.

And what I see the anti-v30 camp doing is much more ethos-aligned.

Don’t trust, verify.
