There are plenty of countries you can source uranium from, Namibia, Canada, Australia, Niger, south Africa, France, India, Uzbekistan, Brazil, Germany, the Czech republic, Japan, Spain, Bulgaria, Sweden, Romania...the united kingdom...
The last state I lived in had a failing grid because of a reliance on wind and solar, the state I'm in now has a failing grid due to wind and solar. The sun doesn't always shine, the wind doesn't always blow, and its all fun and games until your internet doesn't work, the water doesn't run, your AC isn't on in the summer, the heat doesn't work in the winter, and your hospitals start having outages (yes, seriously, its become a weekly occurrence); these are the literal effects I have seen first hand even in the richest places in the US, where policies have tried to accelerate wind and solar while ignoring existing infrastructure like natural gas and nuclear.
Recent #Texas #power failures due to %oil and #gas facility failures not #wind and solar . When #Nuclear goes down itβs for months to years. Or in #France last year cos the the rivers dried up (because #climate change )
Its not Texas, its California and Virginia, nothing about wind and solar was working in Texas during those snow storms in Texas either. Not having nuclear guarantees you are burning more fossile fuels due to the need for backup generators, my cluster started over 150 large diesel generators due to a power outage yesterday. That's only my company, you could probably triple that for all the other data centers, hospitals, etc.
Solar is decentralisation of energy.
