nah. I think the feeling of freedom comes from a natural place of never being scared, repressed or censored. it's an absolute thing.

Freedom is defended by what? Making everyone play nice and respect contracts? It's all over as soon as soon as someone realizes it's pretty profitable to be mean, break your contract, and take your shit. For free. Because you didn't make it costly to attack you.

The baseline is the thing itself. When two actors in a free market are engaging in commerce, the actors should be acting in each other's best interests.
Freedom is first defended by positive incentives, then it is defended by force. The two are separate, I think.
