I was reading abt rdio earlier - it was the first streaming app before Spotify or Tidal. I did not know abt them until today but quite the story on how it all went down - Casey Newton on the The Verge said “ From the start, Rdio had more product sense than business sense, and its cautious approach to growth and marketing would ultimately spell its doom.”
They were making abt 4M rev and 2M loss monthly over a subscription model of 9.99 per mth. The whole bit investment and sales was pretty confusing as the majority share holder which was not the founder decided to sell the business to Pandora, and in order for Pandora to own the assets, they had to file for bankruptcy, and hence why Rdio went under (There’s more twist to this).
I don’t know if anyone has used rdio or remember this but seems like it was a pretty big deal back then - if you recall this happy to hear your stories on it
