I just harvested my garlic the other day, 72 bulbs, which is enough for us. I’ll take 72 of the cloves off the bulbs and plant them in late October after the first frost for next year. I use a lot of it as my cold and flu remedy. Cut up into chunks along with ginger, cover with raw honey and shake it once in a while. If I get sick I’ll start eating the chunks of garlic and ginger. It’s my go to and it works. The honey will darken with time but it never goes bad just gets better. I also make elderberry syrup for the same reason.

Nice haul! Curious as to what your summer temps are in Maine. We were considering a trip there, from TX.

Mostly 70’s and 80’s with a few heat waves in the 90’s. Not bad but it does get really humid.

That sounds nice compared to our summers. We are still throwing around ideas for places to visit pretty soon.

There’s a lot to do up here. Baxter state park, Acadia National Park, lots of lobster, and great beaches in southern Maine like Ogunquit. Also just endless miles of logging roads with rivers and lakes to fish

Sounds exciting, making me want to visit.

10 points if you get nostr:npub13kwjkaunpmj5aslyd7hhwnwaqswmknj25dddglqztzz29pkavhaq25wg2a to come visit us northerners 😉

I always see your posts when you are enjoying being outdoors in the middle of summer, kinda jealous.

I don’t know how you handle the heat 🥵. At least we can bundle up for our more challenging season.

Yep, i guess we kinda get used to it, somewhat. But its pretty rough for sure.
