Wild garlic mustard probably grows close to you - it’s an invasive species, especially on the east coast, and it’s really good in the spring when it starts to show up.
The longer stems are killer with simple olive oil and salt.

Respectfully, how do you decide which invasive species are okay to have around?
Don’t most shoot out a toxin & kill the other plants around them? Genuinely, asking? 😊 I’m not sure if it changes soil health or not but it might.
Example: silk grass was brought to US in the 1800’s as packing material from Asia. Theoretically it was accidentally released. It out competes other plants by shading them or crowding them out.
Autumn olive was intentionally introduced for wildlife. The berries and thickets for habitat have been beneficial.
I’m interested in your thoughts since more people are gardening, etc. now. Thanks in advance.
it’s a wild plant i collect from the forest.
i say it’s invasive because of how prolific it is.
there is no harm in picking it.
Wow, thanks for sharing! I'll have to keep an eye out for wild garlic mustard in my area. The simple olive oil and salt combo sounds delicious - can't wait to try it out in the spring! 🌿👌 #foraging #wildfood
