More or less, in my case speaking Catalan as mother language, Castillian(aka Spanish) by legal imperative, French by studying at school and English by curiosity, I'm able to understand quite well Portuguese.
But there cases of Spaniards who are unable to understand a single phrase in other languages
I can verify this. I am Spanish (from north west corner of spain) for me portuguese is a native language.
