this is very interesting. When your entire life is your work and you're very vested in being the best at your work, then yeah, it is difficult to be happy in life because as an elite, you're never satisfied. that's what separates the elite from everyone else.
With that, I think it is very important to not have your life be centered around just one thing, whether it is your job, your children, your hobby or something else.
By having other things in life, you have a space to recharge, feel happy and satisfied so that you can be energized to go be excellent.
This is why men whose lives revolve around their wives should have friends and hobbies. This is why workaholics should have significant others and hobbies for fun.
