So, I'll be redoing about 400' of fence and I got an 8" auger for it. It still wasn't too easy to make the pit (big limestone rocks), but with that, made it pretty doable. Its deceiving in the pic, but its about 4' diameter across the top and about 30" deep. My first round was very successful, second on Easter not so much. I left in the middle, came back to tons of ash.

Ah nice! That’s a pretty large pit. The one downside of biochar- the babysitting time. But hell it’ll last generations and makes for a good night sitting around the fire with friends.
