You choose your employer. If they treat you wrong that is a you issue.
Also nothing stopping you from starting your own firm and paying yourself whatever you can earn. But hey, blaming the invisible boogeyman for the sake of racial division probably pays more and is far easier than pounding the pavement to get clients.
For your ‘mic drop’ moment at the end, you should’ve gone with a Mandalorian-esque “I have spoken.” :-)
