Altras 👍
Yesss. I love them. Do you also run with Altra ?
I used to. I’ve gone to even more of the zero drop, wide toe box, barefootish feel. I mainly use the brand Xero, specifically the prio and hfs model. I did really like my altra escalantes, really opened my eyes to what we put on our feet and how that translates to our entire body.
Yesss I know xero shoes
Back to natural is soooo important
What types of shoes are you wearing beside Altra and xero? When did you realise that barefoot shoes are the better shoes ?
I went for a run / hike in Banff yesterday and realised that there is still such a big gap in the market
The reason why I wanted to study design was in the past that I wanted to create shoes for running that doesn’t destroy health
But I decided for communication design not product design.
Interesting I still could not find a brand that fill the gap completely after 20 years of running
On the mountains here you will destroy all Altra shoes
It’s also dangerous on the rockie. Completely different to Europe
The material is just too soft
My Altra s look like peeled now after running😂
I also wear the brand Splay casually. I’ve been slowly transitioning without much thought till ~2021.
I have very flat feet and had used orthotics and normal/supportive shoes for some time.
I knew my feet shouldn’t feel so tired and achy when not in much use.
I think it really hit me when I came across something on the internet saying you can strengthen arches no matter how flat. It planted a seed then, and I knew there was better out there.
I mean, my ancestors somehow figured out a way to survive before shoes. Maybe I could do.
Anyways, yes, you are correct. There is a gap there currently. I’ve seen the barefoot/minimalist shoe grow substantially even the few years I’ve followed it. I believe will see many gaps close in the market soon enough.
