I’m gonna assume you’re from the USA. I despise when I hear talk of how deeply oppressed by those in power or the government we currently are. When we need to pull our head out of our asses and realize even if you’ve faced great personal hardship we blessedly cannot even fathom how bad things could be.
I’m not advocating doing nothing. I believe in being deeply involved with creating the community you want to see. We have work to do, yes.

you’re good, i will say that, even iranians living in the usa (me), have a majority of their family living in iran. we are always involved on what’s going on, because it’s our family on the line. we are privileged enough to speak for those who are unable to speak.

I know people who lived through the fall of communism. Grew up hearing stories about it. I think it had an effect on my developing psyche. Hell I know people in countries where they’ve had relatives just disappeared.
It’s not like you could delete posts anywhere. Anything you put out to the internet is hard to take back. Why does she want to delete posts anyways?

I don’t think she wants to have a long history of posts speaking out against the regime in the country she’s currently in. 🤷🏼♀️ Some questions I can’t answer on her behalf. Most of her posts are about letting her friends around the world know what’s going on there. I honestly couldn’t live with myself if I said here’s a safer way to post and something happened to her because of it.
True. I would just be anonymous. Anything you put out on Twitter or Instagram etc.. isn’t actually deleted when you click delete. It just doesn’t show to the public. The government could still order these companies to give them any info they want.
