I think as you get older, one of the biggest revelations is that you begin to understand that the world is filled with retards.
Those people “in charge”? Retards.
Those “experts”? Retards.
Those extra super important people? Extra retarded retards.
The pride of man is an embarrassment. At our most elegant, we are walking out of the bathroom, with a self important look, and a long strip of toilet paper stuck to our shoe.
Stay humble, trust God, stack sats.
They way I see it, individually minded people can be trusted generally speaking, and group minded people cannot. Most people are both, and continuously bounce around between those two states. What makes or breaks trusting someone is whether they can choose individualism when things get tough. You want the first responder in your corner. The one's who aren't looking to other people to know what to think.
Btw, I think everyone is capable of this kind of behaviour. It's a skill like anything in life. It's just difficult to grasp for some people, because their perception historically has been based on protocols that tell them that cooperation is key to solving issues, but the problem is that ends up manifesting as looking up the chain for what to do next. And people with a certain level of awareness are more than willing to exploit that.
I also think that pointing this is out is asking people to confront a sunk cost fallacy around social capital, and that is a tough decision for anyone. Ya know, why throw away something you've worked so hard for. Anyway, I hope this comes off as an opener for a dialogue, rather than blatant proselytising. ✌️
