To be fair, they ARE decentralizing their investment capital
Same. This is how I learned Danny was carrying on with the pod. Definitely will be checking it out!
That's a shame to hear. Since the code is open source, let's hope someone picks up the ball and runs with it.
The icon on the upper left part of the screen pulls up a menu from which you can select 'podcasts'. From there it has similar functionality to Fountain, except you're streaming sats from a wallet that you own the keys to.
The Fountain podcast app is corrupt bullshit
It's NOT "Powered by the Bitcoin Lightning Network"
It's a custodial bank account, closed source app, hosted on Amazon, with Gmail verification, letting you insert an RSS feed to one government domain.
Unlike the Arweave RSS system I presented yesterday,
Which is true and genuine freedom and censorship resistance by transcending physical locations with the files served on a 30+ gateway global CDN, going directly peer-to-peer,
With Fountain, you're putting your private Nostr key in a closed source mobile app, served to you by the censorship oppressors Google and Apple. They use the word "open" on their website, but their github doesn't have the code itself: https://github.com/fountain-fm
You think you're using peer-to-peer Bitcoin? It's a custodial bank account.
Look at this bullshit:
"Fountain charges a 4% transaction fee on top of every payment you make to a podcast but you can join Fountain Premium to reduce your fees to just 1%. We also charge 10 sats for comments and replies to reduce spam."
In Summary:
--Not Bitcoin, it's a bank account.
--Zero Censorship Resistance, Regular Files
--Insert Private Nostr key into closed source
--Heavy integration with Big Tech
--Surveillance of who is listening
--Leeching Bitcoin fees for RSS feeds and Nostr, which are both peer-to-peer without Fountain
You're being manipulated to reject real solutions like Arweave RSS, so these institutions can maintain power and control.
Yup. Use Breez for value-for-value podcast support.
Agreed. The state of our politics is pathetic. I can't help but think it's by design. There's just no way that out of hundreds of millions of Americans this is the best we can come up with. Either we really have devolved into Idiocracy or the powers that be want us to have no good options.
There was a zero percent chance I was going to vote for Trump or Biden and a 5% chance I'm going to vote for Harris. So I'm gonna say real.
Price discovery won't be done for decades though, and a great business idea could help someone stack more bitcoin in the meantime.
I'm bullish on the idea of writing ecash tokens onto programmable RFID chips and physically imbedding bitcoin to be gifted or stashed for geocaching or just treasure hunts with friends and family.
The fact that you can use it to transact offline with full privacy is pretty incredible too.
Mutiny Wallet appears to be completely broken. Anyone know how to get it working again? Or at least get my sats out? nostr:nprofile1qqsd79ejwuvz7v246danxqs3hgw7f2q4qrqz6x27je8er0nhfmykwzqpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtccj3mkl
Tried doing this and received a "Failed to conduct wallet operation" error.
I like when the red water comes out
Just because the majority of nodes are currently in the west doesn't mean we should make changes to further that trend. It's critical that everyone has equal access to Bitcoin, otherwise I honestly think the experiment will have failed.
Because not everyone lives in the west and has access to reliable high speed internet and adequate hardware to manage larger blocks. TPS is adequate for now. I do think we will raise the block size in the future though.
The question is: what's more important? Decentralization or tps?
Actually I'd put them in a lower category, since they seem to have less regard for the consequences of their lies (see the Sandy Hook denialism)
I would put them in the same category as the MSM sources you mentioned. From what I've seen they're more interested in catering to their curated echo chamber than telling the truth. Just like most sources of 'information' these days.
That Infowars is a garbage source of information. I assumed that was clear based on the context.
Infowars eh?...
The anti rich mentality is a result of an unfair system that is designed to steal from the common person. It's intuitive (though incorrect in many cases) for people to blame the obvious beneficiaries of that unfair system. If we had a more just system in which people were fairly compensated for their contributions to society there would be less animosity towards the wealthy. There certainly are people who want to 'steal from any other class', but disregarding valid grievances by generalizing that characteristic onto anyone who expresses disdain for the wealthy is disingenuous, and ignores the fact that the root of the problem IS the wealthy class stealing from the poor class.
That's victim blaming. The people being trampled on are not the ones pulling the money printer's lever and pointing it at their friends.
Yeah, I agree with that. My point is that I believe people are right to be frustrated. It's just that their anger is being misdirected for political gain.
I should add: so while the target of the top panel's ire is misdirected, there is a grain of truth there.
I would argue that in many cases billionaires are a byproduct of the cantillon effect, which does indeed cause a decrease in financial well-being for the majority of people.
D.
Use the internet freely but keep your attack surface small and stay as anon as possible.
I don't know how i would feel as a Roman soldier. I probably wouldn't last 5 minutes on a battlefield

It's called a carnyx and you can buy them here:

Awesome way to terrify your neighbors.
Thanks man. That honestly motivates me to play around and make some this weekend. Hope you have a good one!
If you're cool with a corporation telling you what apps you're allowed to use and how you're allowed to use them you should be cool with another corporation holding your pocket change for you. Just use Wallet of Satoshi.
Oof, I guess you're on iOS then? You've got bigger problems in that case.
Phoenix sucks now. Use Mutiny instead.
That's so cool. Can you describe more how you're using AI to do this?
