i hate zfs, from the deepest, bottomest part of my heart, and also my fingers and eyeballs and every part of my body
i promise to never install an installation while the current, interface breaking dumbassedeness of this filesystem's interface, continues to exist

linux/gnu breaks posix in many important ways, but none so fundamental as zfs
I like ZFS but I cannot deny it feels very out of place
It tries to integrate block device abstractions and the filesystem into one layer.
it's truly an abomination, and at the root of why bsd is never going to matter anymore
it's very unfortunate now we see there is clear signs of compromise in the integrity of linux as well, but at least the ancient but still good, and unixy ext4 exists and aside from the abomination of uefi secureboot, we are still in a safe zone and i think that people are really gonna get a slap in the face in the near future over the state of linux
IMO it needs a refactor to eliminate old cruft and move everything else into a container so you can still use it but nobody is wasting their time maintaining that barf
