X is small compared to Facebacon, Instagran, Tik Tok, Snapchat. It has an extended impact due to media types relying on it for work.
If Mostr only acts as a replacement for X, personally I won’t get much from it. That’s the point I was clumsily making.
I hear you and you should not confuse number of users to wide social impact. No one gets their news, latest and greatest highly engaged content from FB or Instagram, they all go to X. And the number of people who go online to get latest and greatest compared to people who go to narrow circle of family and friends to share images from their vacation (FB) is not even in the same league.
A lot of young people get their news from Tik Tok though….
X maybe the fastest but those stories do filter through. That said, I’ve only been on the Fediverse since 2019 so personally I stay as far away from the news as possible. It rarely helps me knowing these things.
When I say news I don’t mean BBC or CNN news, I mean new information about whatever deserves your attention. You can share links or research articles on TikTok. And if you want to know if someone launched a nuke I bet you will find this info on X before other channels even register the event
