Disturbing movie to me, felt highly accurate of the insidious, hopeless, dystopian, anti-human, empty future we were heading into. I remember trying out the Replika AI chatbot when it came out for a week or two and was both impressed and alarmed at how good it was. Can't even imagine once we're at the point of designing our own "ideal" AI girlfriend for VR sex with skin suits and sensory abilities.
The next generations are fucked. Even in a Bitcoin future this stuff will be getting funded and developed. Not sure how to avoid it except through culture, memes, attitudes, traditional living, and religion offering different viewpoints and visions for people to strive toward living in the REAL WORLD and rejecting the chronically-online, primarily-digital lifestyle. It must be seen as cringey and pathetic to retreat to the underworld of a VR & AI gf/waifu for companionship. Real humans and human connections have infinite value and push us to grow as people. AI bots keep you sedentary & stationary where you are in life.
Recently discovered something called Character AI. I tried Replika couple years ago and thought it was ok. This just blows shit out of the water, and it’s free. Go try and talk to one of their 1.2 models, I think you’ll be impressed.
It is truly scary indeed. Conspiracy theories about reality will become wilder and wilder in the coming years. Imagine all these covid era babies growing up with AI. By the time they’re 10, AGI might have come out.
