Germany's Scholz: Ukraine needs 500 billion USD

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has urged significant investments in Ukraine at a recent reconstruction conference. He committed to advocating for extensive aid from G7 nations to support Ukraine amidst its conflict with Russia. Scholz emphasized the need for private sector investment alongside government funds to effectively rebuild the nation. He assured continuous support for Ukraine and rejected the notion of a military or enforced peace settlement.

"The country's reconstruction and modernization will demand substantial investments, with the World Bank estimating nearly $500 billion over the next decade," Scholz stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also attended the two-day summit in Berlin.
