Some of those who have commented under this note have complained about their governments. OK, but at least the governments of western countries don't headshot their teenage citizens. The Iranian government did this. Last year, there were several protests about the mandatory hijab in Iran, where the Iranian government had deployed snipers on the roofs of buildings and they were headshotting the proteters. They killed at least 570 people, most of whom were young and teenagers.

Valid point, but doesn't take into account that the US has killed american citizens extrajudicially as well, in drone attacks.

Also snipers on rooftops during protests reminds of the (likely US) op during the Maidan protests in Ukraine. Not to blame the US in the case of Iran ofcourse, they would have very much backed these protests I'd expect.

Killing your military targets with a drone is very different from killing protesters in the streets with snipers. Also, the killing of citizens of other countries is sad, but when a government kills its own protesting citizens, that government is the most brutal government.

Fair. I wish there was a source other than that amnesty international release which is quoted everywhere. I have seen too much propaganda and outright lies in the western press to be able to just trust that this happened based on one source.

Here's an article on RT that takes the very different view. They have an agenda, no doubt, but I am yet to see them completely fabricate a story e.g. like the guardian did about the Manafort Assange visit.

the 'military' target is your own civilian

I don't remember a case where US killed its own citizen with a drone.

the us gov will anyone it wants and plenty of others in the process

570? proof?

Yes, 570 in last year, 1500 in some protests in 2019, and 172 in shooting at one of our own planes in 2020.

so where did you get the numbers?

Only the plane's death number is official, other numbers are estimates collected by anonymous reporters from hospitals and cemeteries.

rather fucked, can you not change the gov?

We tried many times and each time some people were killed. When a government shoots protesters in the street, it cannot be changed by chanting in the street.

cool story bro

True. I don't like US government, and always thought they were bad as Rússia or China etc externally.. but yes, they don't shoot their own people. That settled it for me...

...Until recently , because know Afghan people Tell me Rússia invested in infra structure for their country and kept Taliban out. US out Taliban there and bombed everything, so I guess even if Russian government is worse for his own people, it might be better than US at foreign countries.

Too many pros and cons to decide

But in my opinion, the priority of every government should be the people of its own country, as a result, in my opinion, America is better than Russia, even if sometimes it is cruel to other nations.
