We’re thrilled to announce that today we begin Chapter 7 Part I – How to Use Bitcoin in our ongoing Bitcoin Diploma Course at BitcoinSafariTz! This chapter marks a very important milestone in our journey as we move from theory to practical understanding of Bitcoin usage.

We are honored to have the session led by none other than Jetty, a passionate Bitcoin educator and content creator at the popular Bitcrazy YouTube channel. Jetty has been doing incredible work in simplifying Bitcoin education and making it relatable for beginners across Africa and beyond. His real-world insights, practical tips, and educational content are set to equip our students with the right tools to navigate Bitcoin in everyday life.

This session is co-hosted by Graysatoshi, the founder and builder of BitcoinSafariTz, who has been at the forefront of bringing Bitcoin knowledge to the Tanzanian community.

In today’s class, expect to explore topics like setting up a wallet, making transactions on the Bitcoin network, using the Lightning Network, and understanding the importance of self-custody and security.

Yesterday’s Proof of Work marked the beginning of Chapter 7 Part I of our Bitcoin Diploma Course – How to Use Bitcoin.

The class session was led by nostr:nprofile1qqsz9ackramwqadeuz39pfz83p9vpxcykcmwlltuwqafyw2w60ann6qpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qgewaehxw309ac8yetdd96k6tnswf5k6ctv9ehx2ap0e47kmc, who delivered an insightful introduction into practical Bitcoin usage. He covered key topics including acquiring and exchanging Bitcoin, centralized vs decentralized exchanges, and an introduction to Bitcoin wallets.

We explored the differences between self-custodial and custodial wallets, with examples such as Phoenix, Muun, Alby, Wallet of Satoshi, and Blink. The session also touched on the types of Bitcoin wallets, and the difference between open-source and closed-source wallets.

Yesterday, during Chapter 7 Part II of the Bitcoin Diploma Course, we hosted an enlightening session titled "How to Use Bitcoin," led by nostr:nprofile1qqsz9ackramwqadeuz39pfz83p9vpxcykcmwlltuwqafyw2w60ann6qpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qgewaehxw309ac8yetdd96k6tnswf5k6ctv9ehx2ap0e47kmc and co-hosted by Graysatoshi. The focus was on understanding Bitcoin wallets, differentiating between custodial and non-custodial types, and mastering their practical use.

He emphasized the importance of self-custody in aligning with Bitcoin's decentralized ethos.

The session covered key aspects such as sending and receiving Bitcoin, setting up wallets, and criteria for selecting reliable self-custodial wallets. Jetty highlighted essential features like ease of use, security, and backup options.

A significant portion of the class was dedicated to a live demonstration. Students were guided through the setup of Wallet of Satoshi, a user-friendly custodial wallet, and Phoenix Wallet, a non-custodial Lightning wallet. They learned how to create wallets, secure their seed phrases, and execute transactions. The hands-on experience included sending and receiving Bitcoin, providing students with practical knowledge of transaction processes.

The interactive session fostered active participation, with students engaging in Q&A, enhancing their understanding of Bitcoin wallet functionalities. Jetty's expertise and the collaborative environment made the learning experience enriching.

Additionally, we explored Chapsmart.com, a Bitcoin-based service enabling users worldwide to send fiat money to Tanzania via the Lightning Network, with recipients receiving funds through their Vodacom M-Pesa accounts. A live demonstration showcased the platform's functionality, further enriching the session.

Today, we look forward to concluding Chapter 7 Part II with students performing peer-to-peer Bitcoin transactions. This exercise aims to reinforce their skills in using Bitcoin wallets effectively, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the Bitcoin ecosystem confidently.
