You're starting to sound like Ayn Rand. W. Atlas Shrugged talks all about this ideology.

Reading that right now, I'm 12% thru on the Kindle version.

It's a very interesting read and I can see a lot of relevance to todays society and the people in it.

I seriously need to make time to read that book. I've been telling myself that I'll get around to it for years, but I'm always too tired or something else always pops up.

I need more vacation time to read it in earnest 😂

Atlas Shrugged is a absolute behemoth of a book. (in page count and content)

I know 😫😂

I've heard and read similar things from friends and reviews. I hope I enjoy it as much as I did 1984.

I struggled with 1984, it was too depressing.

I started reading it knowing how depressing it was going to be, and it REALLY is! But, imo, the philosophical themes of the story and it's setting (most of which are prevalent today) more than make up for it and made for a great cautionary tale!

💯

Same😂. The past thirteen years have left me pretty burnt out😅☠️.

I understand critics of the writing style but the amount of parallels it has to today's world is crazy. No other work of fiction does the same level of justice to the ideas discussed. And it gets much better as it goes on - the end of part 2 and transition to part 3 is very good. I'm jealous that you are reading it for the first time.

Enjoy!

Henry Rearden's party has just finished.

It builds well. I would love to discuss it more when you finish. I don't trust myself to not spoil things lol.

Did the butler do it? 😂

Yeh, Christmas will be a good opportunity to spend time on it.
