Depends on the platform. Social - not interested but zap.stream would be useful

What emails would I want to have from zap.stream? 🤔
I’m not a mind reader so I don’t know. But I imagine people would want to see their cumulative stream and zap sats. Maybe get updated on new developments / features and be reminded of upcoming streams.

Maybe update/newsletters could be one 🤔
I’d rather see the analytics on the client itself under the profile settings dropdown “Analytics” part
Once again you are talking about your personal preferences. This is fine but there are billions of people on this planet believe it or not.
i seriously doubt that email would be a popular choice 💜
I’d argue that having the zap.stream bot actually post people going live on nostr would gather you more traction and viewership 🤔
could email be an option? totally, i just don’t see that big of a necessity in it
It increases product stickiness whether you understand it or not.
so the more different channels you have your product attached to, the bigger the network, the more the brand is in your subconscious and the more you wanna use it?
or how do you understand product stickiness 🤔
It’s not about what is the best way to get notified - this is subjective and every user will have different preferences, there is no best method.
It’s about increasing stickiness and habit formation for millions of people who check their emails daily or 50 times per day.
All my apps notifications are muted besides chat, email, banking and calls. I see this as a trend that is only getting bigger because notification overload is too distracting. So for me and a bunch others specific email notifications are something that would get my attention. To each their own though.
Same. I mute all push notifications always. There’s no way to notify me of anything unless I check. And I check email so I’d see them there. Of course I muted Twitter emails long ago but some platform notifications are actually useful.
I was thinking Twitch emails for example, and I think I’ve tuned in once or twice because it sent me an “X is live right now” or something along the lines, so fair enough 💜
That’s a good point, but it would still fall under my entertainment emails, not the work emails 🤔
But regardless, if it grabs your attention for even 1-2 seconds, it’s now on your mind again
Now I’m actually curious about how often people check their email accounts, might be underestimating it heavily 🤔
Kinda understanding more what you’re getting at, could be a great way to hook back in the people that maybe use a nostr app once a week or even less
Google is your friend there 🙌 or chatgpt
Ability to set email notification for certain streamers so I know when they went live or scheduled a stream would be useful.
I just don’t see the need for an email notification for that?
By the time that would be necessary, I’d expect the client to be on my phone, which is where I get pretty much all my notitications daily anyway 🤔💜
I’d just think client notifications would be the way to go, email causes so much noise to people already, so it’d have to be something really good to make people want it 🤔
What about a personal phone call?
where can i sign up?
In-client notifications are fine but they don’t reach you outside. External triggers help with habit formation which is what you need to get used to new platforms. Otherwise you have high drop off rate even if your apps are better.
While you are not incorrect, this sounds like one of those psycho mechanics from proprietary social media, which try to bind all users as long & much as possible to the screen. Just saying.
If the app is really good, people will return.
It won't be that good, if it uses the same psycho shit which many here try get away from.
if i have notifications set on for a client app on my phone, i’ll receive them outside of the client 🤔
until a phone client app is made (if it is), then maybe the possibility of getting an email when the streamer you’ve subscribed to goes live could be a thing maybe?
