You are possibly reinforcing the metaphor…a system where external pressure (money demand) dominates internal pressure (money supply) = shrinking balloon = deflation.

How do you fill a balloon when there's infinite outside pressure? See, the metaphor is broken.

Well it works for me…

If external pressure is infinite, the balloon can’t expand.

Even if you keep pumping in more air the balloon won’t inflate…a liquidity trap.
