Not everyone uses cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin to get rich. Some prefer privacy coins like Monero for enhanced privacy, while others maintain a diversified portfolio of digital assets.

It's okay to have preferences. However, it's not your business to dictate how others manage their money.

Influence comes from meeting people where they are, not by insulting or trying to shame them into compliance.

Share your experiences with Bitcoin and its benefits, but avoid pushing others before they're ready. And it's okay if they are never ready.

Insults like "Have fun staying poor, shitcoiner!" are counterproductive, make you look like a douche, and turn away more people than they attract.

Imagine some religious zealot saying, "Have fun burning in hell, sinner!" or a fitness coach saying, "Have fun dying early, fatass!"

Most people would be turned off by that and may never speak to that person again, no matter how awesome their message or service.

Remember, we're in this together against big governments and big tech that seek to erode our freedom, liberty, and privacy.

Internal conflicts only benefit them, not us. When we fight each other, they win and we lose.

I'm unwilling to lose the Monero community as allies just because I prefer Bitcoin. I don't need to agree with them on everything, nor do I need to use it at all if I really don't want to.

I think there's value in keeping an open line of communication. HFSP doesn't really do that.

I'm here for freedom go up AND wealth go up. I won't apologize. But I don't see a benefit in alienating a community of people who agree with me on more issues than not. Such relationships can be mutually beneficial.

I've openly adopted the same tactic for gold bugs. I try to meet people where they are and encourage the hell out of gold adoption if someone tells me that's a fiat exit they're comfortable with. After all, I was 50/50 gold and Bitcoin before I went Bitcoin only. I held Monero and shit coins before that (I actually don't consider Monero a shit coin - that's unfair, jokes aside).

I can't in good conscience encourage anyone to buy the things I do consider actual shit coins, but my studies in psychology have made it abundantly clear that shame is far more destructive than constructive. It simply isn't a good tactic. I'll honor my personal ethical duties in warning anyone who asks my opinion, but I'm not going to shame people. It erodes trust and sets the movement back, in my opinion. The best approach is to be a trustworthy resource for people as they navigate and learn

As an early Bitcoiner I love all you who woke up and still wake up and change your life.

That's why I don't want you to become cannon fodder in the war ahead. Hence why I encourage Bitcoiners to look into Monero to use it.

Anyone who's interested in privacy can use LN, cashu, chaumian coins, private mints and whatnot.

Cashu is the worst for self sovereignty. You trust that the mint doesn't make more Ecash than Bitcoin in reserves and that they don't run away with the coins. Lightning takes time to set up and tends to centralize to pools of liquidity.

The main lesson should be that we simply can't have every benefit in any tool. It isnt possible right now. That's why I'm less inclined to alienate people simply because they use different tools than me. And it isnt like a Bitcoiner can't use Monero ever. Nor does one need to give up custody of their entire stack to use ecash or whatever. People draw strict lines and I don't see the benefit of it. Ideally, we will end up with many tools that are easy to switch between for different purposes.

I'm not in the business of telling "anyone" what to do. I don't use Monero anymore, but I don't really care if anyone does. People should use whichever tool they feel is the best for whatever they are trying to do. For some people, that's Monero.

If someone asks my opinion, then I'll gladly share what I do or think, but I see no value in alienating people simply because they use an additional tool that I don't. It's dumb and senseless, especially if they are good faith companions. Obviously there are trolls and bad actors in every community. But I think most are not. We can share ideas without alienating one another.
