Was thinking about tariff situations.

In addition to the three countries, if trump to impose tariffs on EU and Japan etc (not sure this is planned), these countries ultimately need to shift their market to, at least partly, from the US.

It will be China (as it has a lot of populations). Then, they need to strengthen a tie to China and BRICS for the trade purposes.

Will this help China rather than weaken?

Trump's tariffs will pull the world to the multi-polar direction in a theory (?)

Hi Tomoko. I look at Trump as a master negotiator. The tariffs are not there to be imposed but avoided. They are a threat to get nations to change their behavior in favor of Trump’s demands. I don’t think Trump intended them as a lasting arrangement. At the moment it is probably easier to bend to US demands than switch trade relations to China and Brics.

I remember, his policies did quickly shift when he was the president last time.
