I haven't used one but now I'm curious why he isn't a fan
Nice! Interested to hear what nostr:nprofile1qqsqfjg4mth7uwp307nng3z2em3ep2pxnljczzezg8j7dhf58ha7ejgprpmhxue69uhhqun9d45h2mfwwpexjmtpdshxuet5qyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnswf5k6ctv9ehx2aqpr9mhxue69uhhxetwv35hgtnwdaekvmrpwfjjucm0d5klqft7 has to say about this, i know he's not the biggest fan of the OG Jade
Discussion
Personally I think the jade is great, especially if you just use it as a temporary air gapped signer (not storing the keys in the wallet). Fully open source hardware and software, no shitcoins. Biggest issues with it for me were the small screen and navigating with the wheel, so I'm glad the new one has addressed those.
Interesting. I like the QR and TOTP capabilities but not sure I'd even utilize the QR stuff, at least at this point in life. I've been happy with the Trezor Safe 3 with bitcoin-only firmware so far.
Trying to evaluate the security/recoverability options in a wife-approved way in case of my untimely demise lol.
Always a tough balance between ease of recovery and protection from unwanted access
In general I'd say if you're worried about inheritance, walk your trusted person(s) through recovery of a wallet while maybe having another stash elsewhere. No single point of failure for your whole stack, still enough disaster funds for your family.
Just 1 of many approaches!
