To assuage your concerns, I can access all my banks from my #GrapheneOS, no problem.
I just have a specific profile with G*ogle in it and those apps. It's a dirty profile.

It's not banks. Games, and other apps that will be of concern as they won't function on my Pixel 2, which has #LineageOS
Well, to be fair a Pixel 2 is an antediluvian device. It think the oldest supported and with security updates is the Pixel 4 and it's at the end of its lifecycle.
Can't argue with that logic
I'd say you should consider the option of getting a refurbished or second-hand up to date Pixel model, or install #DivestOS on your old device.
