VSCode (and forks) is such an intensely terrible experience. I really don’t understand why people use it when other stuff exists for not a lot of money, or indeed free. Nova (mac) exists. Emacs exists. NeoVim exists. BBEdit exists.

What is it about tech tribalism…??

Text/font rendering. VSCode does it decently well, Sublime and Notepad++ are pretty distant seconds. Terminal-based text editors are a non-starter in this regard.

I tried Zed for the first time about 45 minutes ago. It's fine, but I didn't like the font rendering.
