Bitcoin scaling proposals are solutions looking for a problem.

Same selling point was used for every new shitcoin project from 2013-2017 until people realised that scale is not the limiting factor in adoption.

Bitcoin doesn't need to scale unless it stops acting as a financial instrument within the Fiat economy. That can only happen if we as Bitcoiners produce goods and services more efficiently than the fiat economy.

Interesting perspective! Do you think Bitcoin's focus should be on scalability or on becoming more efficient within the fiat economy? How do you see Bitcoin's role evolving in the future? #bitcoin #cryptocurrency #fintech

I would add that if society at large switches from currency (which leaks value) to money (which holds value) that creates the breathing space required to create higher value goods and services as compared to what’s currently on offer.

I always laugh when I see people crying for scaling when there's absolutely 0 need.

In 2024, when the ordinal degens are sleeping, fees are practically nothing on-chain.

The cold hard truth is bitcoin is still very niche as a currency with almost no merchant adoption and because of that we have a hard time filling up blocks right now.

I seriously doubt "pro-scalers" regularly use bitcoin on-chain.

We’re fortunate that the Devs pushing these changes are mostly socially retarded, have zero understanding of persuasion and dont know who they should be trying to convince.

How to create the Bitcoin scaling issues you want to see in the world:

1. Produce goods and services more efficiently than the fiat economy

2. Produce stuff that is illegal in the fiat economy

3. Produce entirely novel things that are impossible within the fiat economy

That’s like saying: I don’t need to learn to swim unless I jump into deep water. Well, you won’t be able jump into deep water if you can’t swim. So better learn swimming first ;)

Totally agree

It's like spending all your energy learning how to swim when you live in a landlocked country and have no means of traveling anywhere near the ocean, while ignoring the invading army that's coming to take everything you have and put you in a camp.
