In theory, the unemployment rate being too low means that people are less free to change jobs, get education, etc. So while high unemployment is obviously a problem, super low unemployment has its own problems. The Fed has a self-assigned mandate to find a balance point.
Which is Bullshit, they should be focused on the damn foundation and letting the real job market take care of things. But what do I know.
