This sounds like some shit my boss would say to justify fucking me out of a raise.
Then earn the raise. The fact that someone makes more than you doesn't entitle you to more money...

You just assume I didn't earn the raise or know the dollar value of my contribution to the company that year.
You are definitely coming at this from the perspective of a bad boss who cheats their employees.
There's nothing wrong with asking for a raise if you feel you deserve it...
