Brooklyn Nine Nine

Avatar: The Last Airbender

A couple lighthearted shows for you.

For anyone who can't get into The Last Airbender in the first couple of episodes (it is a children's show) then it might be worth trying the first season of The Legend of Korra, it is a little more grown up. Then once you appreciate how well written that is, go back to The Last Airbender series. It is one of the best written shows ever & worth the time.

I have not heard great things about later seasons of Korra & I have not watched.

Yellowstone, Justified, Billions, Suits

All of these are series.

Bone tomahawk

Amélie, Paris, je t'aime, Black Mirror.

Black Mirror is great. 👍🏼

From Ari Aster: Hereditary, Midsommar

From Paul Thomas Anderson: There will be blood, Hard Eight, Magnolia, phantom thread

From Lars Von Trier: Breaking the waves, Melancholia

From Robert Eggers: The Lighthouse, The Witch

What genre of tv shows and movies do you enjoy?

Sci-fi,epic,war movies, thrillers, mysteries, investigations, based in real life events.

Blade Runner 2049

Ex Machina

Interstellar

Mystic River

Sin City

Chernobyl

Lone Survivor (combat sequences were very realistic)

Vouch💯 for the first 3 movies

Altered Carbon season 1

The Wire, entire series

Battlestar Galactica

soo good.

it's more punk than all the Star Trek where centrally planned economies and 3D printers remove scarcity. it's very unrealistic.

BSG is running from Cyclons on decommissioned starships ready for museum.

Also Firefly is the same quality

Firefly is pretty good.

If you don't mind subtitles, these are exceptional:

Life is Beautiful

Amelie

Pan's Labyrinth

I also really like:

Pefume (the story of a murderer)

Stardust - silly & somehow infinitely rewatchable

Exmachina - dark/psychological thriller

Can possibly suggest others based on genre preferences

I love all the movies you suggested ❤️ I have seen them a while ago. 😀 Have you the novel “PERFUNE-story of a murderer” ?

Have you read the novel* “Perfume-story of a murderer”

No, but I do have it. I didn't know it was a book until long after I had seen the movie. Is it good?

It’s awesome! Give it a try!

I did not realize that Stardust is infinitely rewatch able, but it's a spot-on description.

Also Fifth Element has this property

I have seen Stardust (maybe) 50 times and definitely will continue.

(suprisingly, the movie is better than book - different endings)

Slow Horses

Westworld if you’re looking for a really deep show on consciousness

Serial experiments Lain

Neon genesis Evangelion

Ergo Proxy

House of the Dragon season finale coming up soon. Time to catch up if you haven't been watching.
