These are facts. Most who jump from TikTok will simply relocate to other centralized platforms. And there (currently) isn’t an analog for mobile device video editing/posting on nostr.

Paid relays already cost 10k sats a month for text based notes and some picture… imagine how much the data and server hosting fees would cost if everyone was sharing 10 second videos
I suppose it's not the app the issue, it's the content they are looking for. Let them watch 3 following videozwith cashu wallet, nip05 explanations and some speech at Bitcoin Atlantis and they'll close the app and delete it 😅

It's what happened in India after they banned Tiktok over here a few years ago. Instagram is extremely popular here now, especially reels.
But those who do check out Nostr will like the zaps and might give the protocol some time.
I think it's about touch points. Those that don't come now but heard about it will hear about it again sometime down the road and come on board. That's how bitcoin usership/understanding works also.

Don't like to be Debbie Downer, but I agree. The people who like being seen will not like it here. I find my introvert nature of not engaging has more of an effect here than on algorithmic social media. When i push the comfort zone and engage, I get engagement but sitting back and watching gets no reaction. Both of which are great for me, but not so much for extroverted personalities who enjoy the benefits of people being fed their content. I love it here, I see what I want to see and don't get sucked in to the drama of Al-Gorithm.
Some are slower than others. Some don’t want to wake up.
It’s likely a passing moment, probably won’t be the only one, but I think we’re headed in the right direction
Very much depends on what they are looking for. I think a platform that is actually free to join and that is fully monetized from the instant we join and start posting cool stuff might get some attention. EVERY other option out there is centralized, corporate, data mining and/or pay to play.
people like to be comfortable, sadly there’s no tiktok esque client to keep tiktok refugees here (on ios), legacy centralized options will be used and will be the ones people herd to.
