The version obtainium offers is always behind the version I manually pulled from github 🤷‍♂️

You are pulling the app from the FDroid repo, not from GitHub. So, it will always be from days to weeks old.

Is there a possible fix to autodetect the right architecture? I know what I'm doing but I can see how that can be off putting to a normie.

This is the way.

Ich hab bei vielen apps immer Probleme mit Aktualisierungen

If you install apps via other means and then try to update the with Obtainium, you have to uninstall them first.
