Advice required.
Have a synology ds923+. Haven’t got the drives yet or the nvme drives.
What is everyone using or suggest. Obviously synology want you to buy theirs but prices are jacked. Also not sure how anal they are with suggested compatible drives

That have become a bit more anal about it recently. WD reds may work, but it’s not a guarantee if you run firmware updates (which may be automatic).
If you do try off the list drives, don’t exceed the maximum capacity of the ones listed on the compatibility list. I’ve tried that, and they definitely did not work.
