You don't know what is like to have 4 hours electricity cuts twice a day
Every day...
Is just annoying

Most have not experienced that for sure, even when I was in the army we had power all the time (signal corp), but not for heating - minus 40 C/F is interesting haha…
Living in old boats & vans in the summer was great though, but would not like to do so in the tropics!
Cold is easier to deal with off grid as long as you’ve got wood, oil or coal to burn of course. Rain and dampness on the other hand can be hell even in tempered climates…
Reminds me of when a business partner of mine bought a genset for his web dev guy in Kathmandu haha, it worked somehow, was in the years when you could do dev work offline :-)
I have lived all My life in venezuela so i don't Even know what feels like a temperature under 12° C hahaha but i do know how 38 - 40 °c feels hahaha and yes it is horrible! We had to use ice in our face to cool off
Minus 40 in a tent is what we experienced haha, but when you know how to do it & your body is still young it can actually be great :-)
I would not have a problem living off grid outside of the tropics at all, it’s a great experience BUT resources is different, firewood & food would be literally everything 24/7
But off grid close to where that can be bought? No problem, done that a lot!
You're one of the wealthiest countries in the world in resources. Can't you afford to bootstrap your needs. Without being shills for Western capitalist and #Jews.
