Day 2 of digging a trench. It occured to me today to switch between right and left handed to achieve more balanced strength and coordination.

When was the last time you practiced something with your less dominate side?

Dig! Dig! Dig!

I get wiped out pretty fast. I am sure I am getting stronger though.

Just keep digging. Pick axes are very satisfying tools

DEFINITELY satisfying. I really enjoy switching between pick axe and shovel. It reminds me of shadow work and integration. Pick axe can give us big break throughs. The shovel may be less exciting but it is key to cleaning out the trench. Have to have both to make a clear trench.

Hear hear. What’s the trench for?

To feed chilled air into our tiny house. It won't have AC so a tunnel that is a few feet down should help bring in cooler air to the space. And also feed a wood burning stove in the winter.

Very cool. Carry on

On snowboard.

Or hammering hard to reach nail which never works out.

Hammering a nail well left handed it quite difficult for me. I have never snow boarded. Do you generally have your dominate foot in front or back?

Dominate foot forward...

Ya doesn't look like much snow in your area haha. Look me up when you in the rockies.

I think about this a lot. I’ve been training myself to throw a baseball left handed. I’ll probably never be a switch-pitcher but it highlights the mechanics of throwing as I’m playing catch with my kid.

Great practice. I think it helps us find balance i n many ways. I wouldn't lift weights on only one arm...

reminds me of quagmire alone in his house 😂

I remember those days. 👀

daily!!! i love training the corpus callosum!

my fav is chopsticks leftie 😂

I can barely do chipsticks rightie. Next time I will go for it though.

After unloading 70+ solar panels from a trailer, noticing my shoulder and neck only hurt on one side each, realized I picked them all up and carried them all the same and should have been switching it up. Large, awkward to carry and 45lbs a piece showed me how out of shape I was.

I know this one well. I have moved tooamu somar panels. Great workout. Thats a lot of panels. What are you using them for?

They will be powering the cabin I am building for my wife and I along with several small cabins on the same property which I am managing for a friend and several projects around the property. It's 16ac raw land in TN.

Awesome. I love to see it. Do you end up with any extra that can be burnt off with miners during peaks?

I will be doing some miner setups. Hopefully all the cabins will have them running in some capacity when they aren't being stayed in, since the power is already there.

They were used off a data center getting a new roof. Ended up with 56 out of 72 good. Transport was a shit show. But the price was right and we ended up at about 3 cents a watt.

That a great e exercise! I mean digging too 😂 but using the side you usually don’t use is great. Not only for muscles, but also for brain coherency 🔥

Thanks for the reminder. I’ll try using my other side tomorrow, in something I usually would not use it. And I’ll let you know 😍

Legend 🫡🧡

Hi desert dave 🤟😉🏴‍☠️ Great idea! It’s amazing how much we can improve by just switching things up and challenging our bodies in new ways. As for me, I actually practiced writing with my left hand a few weeks ago to improve my coordination. It’s tough, but definitely rewarding! How about you any unexpected benefits so far from switching hands?

I had a dirtbike accident a few years ago and I feel like this is good therapy for my shoulders. I think I can go longer by using more muscles also.

i do the same wen splitting or getting wood for the fireplace etc..

Surface mining ⛏️

Just dirt and different rocks so far.

And I forgot 🤪 really want to focus on doing something with my other weak side…
