I respect that influencers rely on engagement to pay their rent and would rather comply with twitter identity verification rather than abandon the platform for nostr.

That is the problem. The blue checks are captured.

It's the old 'network effects' problem again.

That was a buzzword a few years ago, but I think it applies to the bird app - network effects are strong there.
