εxodus analyzes Android applications in order to list the embedded trackers.

A tracker is a piece of software meant to collect data about you or your usages.

εxodus does not decompile applications, its analysis method is legal.

Some Monero wallets for example

WTF😐

I always use MyMonero wallet, but not the app, but the site in the Tor browser.

It depends on the version. The new one has no trackers.

So that’s how it is.🤔

Because MyMonero wallet is a lite wallet it is not great for privacy. Although slightly more convenient, they know a lot more about your transcations than using something like Cake Wallet, Monerujo, Stack Wallet, etc.

Also, even the creator recommends avoiding their web wallet because of all the security issues involved.

Just a heads up if you didn't know.

Yes, I found out a few months ago that it has my Viewkey and can see my transactions, that's why I'm thinking about using Monerujo.

PS: Regarding using MyMonero in the browser, I have to say that I only use the Tor browser for doing that and I trust this browser more than the MyMonero app.

I checked a few wallets that I use

And, under "trackers", they have "Google firebase analytics"

I don't like that

I mean, I guess it's nice for the app owner to know what I clicked when

But as I think about it, could someone match my usage data with on chain data to identify me?

Or am I paranoid?

Or should we all just accept this tracking?

Because otherwise feels like I'd have to be a total outcast, running everything on my hardware, open source and do a code review

Not going to happen

I don't know enough

And even if I did, I'm unsure the time investment and usability drop is worth it

Difficult decisions on freedom tech and privacy

Difficult

Anyway

Thanks for sharing the link

If your wallet contains Google you are the product and surveiling you is the goal.

Don't support developers that rely on Google products to improve UX.

That's why I'm kind of negatively surprised to see it

Some developers simply are lazy. Don't support them. Value 4 value.

Is the wallet you are using a Bitcoin wallet?

Yes

Blue wallet

Phoenix

Why are you worring about firebase tracking while using a transparent blockchain?

Transparent on a Blockchain is the address

Tracking can link the address to me

Better

Yes

Thank you

I'm actually using cake wallet already (for something else, may use it a bit more now)

Check #GrapheneOS or #DivestOS

If you are using an IOS phone or Android with Google Play Services I am not sure even with the wallets I sent you, you can expect privacy.

That's right

I'm contemplating the idea of getting a graphene or calyx phone

Or maybe a new phone with Google where I create a fresh Google account and use it for Bitcoin only

I like this app I just hate that its a tracker itsself and send a list of your apps to their servers.

Damn that’s funny.
