The message reads: "The passcode is the date of the Battle of Gettysburg, in the format MMDDYYYY."
You recall your knowledge of history and remember that the Battle of Gettysburg took place in July 1863. With this information, you have a chance to unlock the glass case and retrieve your time travel device.
