I’m trying to cultivate more perennials. Currently, I have: strawberries, elderberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, concord grapes, loganberries, gogi berries, figs, comfrey, rhubarb, asparagus horseradish; also perennial herbs sage and rosemary. What do I need to add? Zone 7.

Jujube?

Dang you are stocked!

Got fruit trees already? If so then honey bees? Other kinds of blueberries?

Dude didn’t know you were here! Nostr is amazing.

where do you know me from?

I followed your Twitter back in the day

still on twitter?

Cilantro? Corriander?

They are perennials in 7?

No, but.. in a large enough area (3x3) it will reseed itself typically. I usually plant it with calendula for in permanent bed.

Lavender and fruit/nut trees are about all I could really suggest. Muscadine maybe.

I forgot i have lavender. Actually have 45 lavender plants. I have wild muscadines! Need to cultivate some.

Killer zap! Wild persimmon? I got with my property. Have loads of black walnut, pecan, muscadine and persimmon.

Can’t quit thinking on this.. there’s also jerusalem artichoke (horror stories with this one) and egyptian walking onions..

Thanks

Thanks!

Mint is nice but need to keep it contained.

ah, i have some in a large pot! thanks

How many acres do you farm?

I have 44 acres total. i farm about 1-2.

Animals or crops? Is the rest not useable for farming?

crops. more is useable but there is a time and energy factor

I noticed a lot of berries. What about trees like apple, pear or peach?

need to add fruit trees

I have PawPaw fruit trees. They are really exotic for a native NA fruit. They grow in zone 7. But takes a long time before they produce.

I need to get some.

That’s awesome. I have 60 acres and 12 is farmed. But not by me - I lease the fields. You need literally millions in equipment to farm fields and it would make no sense.

i don’t use chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides so expensive equipment wouldn’t work for me anyway.

That’s the ideal. Mine is a regular farm crop.

I'm looking at giving Arctic Kiwi a shot.

French sorrel

Green garlic, (typical garlic with small bulbs harvested for their tops and flower stems)

Onion or garlic chives.

Haskap / honey berry is on the edge in 7

Nut shrubs / trees

I want to try Good king Henry don’t know what it tastes like but good for shoots and leaves like spinach for cooking.

Thanks
