Billy Connolly, the famous Scottish comedian, apparently made the claim that fame is only tolerable when you are rich and famous, and that to be poor and famous is insufferable.

It never really occurred to me that you could be poor and famous, but I suppose it's perfectly possible.

I can't think of anyone to hand though, maybe the actor that played Kramer from Seinfeld? Would he count?
