So, if I was to upgrade to a new android phone, which one to choose?

OnePlus seems solid again for new.

Pixels work well for used.

New and cheap? I wouldn't bother.

Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro. The Pixel 9 will be out soon as well.

Love my 8 Pro. I've had it for about 4-5 months with 0 issues .

I just got the 8 a few days ago. Feels like a big upgrade from a OnePlus 9. Smaller screen is actually a plus for me too.

when the 9 comes out i will add to my 6 6+9/69! lfg!

Latest pixel with grapheneos installed

I've been looking at these and they are meh. The only appeal is GrapheneOS and... I'm not sure it's worth bothering with.

Pixel 8 Pro is fantastic hardware all around. Graphene only matters if you care about your privacy/security. If ya don't, then agree

I recently upgraded to the Pixel 8 (non-pro) and I've been happy with my choice. I had to get a new magnetic car mount for my car so that I can charge it just by mounting.

It's OK enough hardware.

GrapheneOS is probably the most secure, but, it's not the be all and end of security. I've been running degoogled phones for most of a decade at this point. 🤷‍♂️

Looks nice 👌 And maybe I’m still in line with my mission of degoogling myself if I use grapheneos, but I’ve never tried it before.

Totally, don't need to use Google at all with graphene of you don't want to. And if you do it's completely sandboxed

For $150 the TCL nxtpaper is amazing, the camera is not quite as good as my iPhone, but everything else is comparable

Motorola G42 with CalyxOS. Really cheap and great.
