I'm curious what the motivation has been to destroy it. It all seems so deliberate, but in all honesty, he's probably just very out of touch. Social is hard. You can't meme and shitpost your way though it. Well 😂 we as users can, but that can't be the company motto.
I doubt it was deliberate. I think most likely explanation is just lack of self-control + urge to make it his own playground with special set or rules for him.

The fundamental problem is he needs to figure out a way to make Twitter profitable, because he can't afford to subsidize it. Just doing that wouldn't be enough, because Twitter wasn't profitable to begin with and was inevitably going to become less profitable as he was inevitably going to lose advertising revenue. The left hate him and have for many years. They were going to get advertisers off Twitter.
